Sobiesław
Zasada in Vilnius 08.05.2007
A
collection of
old cars owned
by Stasys Brundza,
a Lithuanian
racing champion,
is one of the
most impressive
in Europe and
maybe even around
the world. Little
wonder that
its first public
display has
become a real
sensation in
Vilnius. A lot
of guests were
invited, not
only from Lithuania,
but also from
other countries.
The guests included
Sobiesław Zasada
- a colleague
of old-standing
met at the races
and an author
of a book entitled
"Safe Speed"
which has been
translated into
Lithuanian.
The exhibition,
temporarily
located in the
halls of the
Lithuanian LitExpo
fairs, presents
55 cars, most
of which Cadillacs,
as Stasys Brundza
has taken a
particular liking
to them. But
the collection
also includes
vehicles he
owns part of
his success
to: Ladas, Moskvitches
and an experimental
racing car called
Eva. The
exhibition of
historic cars
attracted a
number of honoured
guests, including,
among others,
the Lithuanian
President Gediminas
Kirkilas, former
President and
Prime Minister
Algirdas Brazauskas,
as well as ministers
and businessmen.
After
the inauguration
of the exhibition
Sobiesław Zasada,
accompanied
by the President
of “Polskie
Autobusy”,
Franciszek Gaik,
carried out
a presentation
of a new bus
Jelcz M081 MB,
the tests of
which are currently
being carried
out in Lithuania.
During
his stay in
Vilnius Sobiesław
Zasada met Czesław
Okińczyc Esq.,
one of the three
Polish citizens
who signed the
Act on the Rebirth
of the Independence
of the Republic
of Lithuania
in 1990.
